Post Commander Gann called the meeting to order at 1000 on Wednesday, 12 Sep 2007.
There were 28 members in attendance.
Chaplain Hommel gave the opening prayer.
Commander led attendees in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and Section 3 of the Congressional Charter.
The Roll Call was taken by the Adjutant. All present except Advocate Jim Correll who was excused.

DPA Commander Rhett Webber and DPA Deputy Inspector Roger Limle who was here to conduct inspection of Post Adjutant and Quartermaster Records/Accounts.
Commander asked if the minutes from the previous meeting had been posted:
The Adjutant reported they had and no comments or changes made. JVC Hendricks made the motion to accept the minutes as posted, seconded by SVC Alvarez. Carried.
Commander called for the report of the Quartermaster:
QM Burnett presented the report. Trustees conducted an audited of QM records on 3 Sep. Comrade Phillips made the motion to accept the report as presented, seconded by SVC Hendricks. Carried. The report is on file at the Post home, if anyone wants to see the report contact the Quartermaster.
Commander called for the Service Officer’s report:
Post members buried Comrade Anderson at Clark on 7 Sep with ceremony. Charles Redwine (non-member) hospitalize at St. Luke’s for heart attack.
Commander called for the Surgeon's report:
Surgeon continues to look for volunteers and medicines for September’s Outreach. Donations for medicines still needed. Five dentists are expected to assist, still need additional doctors. Shriners cannot participate as they have in the past due to financial problems; however they can supply six boxes of worm medicine. Outreach is 8-12am on the 30th.

Post Home Committee Report:
Post Home Committee: PHC Chairman Cox reported. Highlights of report:
- PHC members conducted canteen inventory and count of daily draw chips on 31 Aug.
- Canteen records and funds were audited by Trustees on 3 Sep. PHC reviewed canteen records and found them to be in good order.
- Canteen manager reported bar sales were down by P15,000 from last month, food sales up by P4,000. Waitress salaries up by P2000 and cooks by P1000. QM paid two months electric bill (June and July) which totaled P34,375 ($747).
Membership Committee:
SVC Alvarez gave the report. Life membership stands at 366, 3 new members, 5 continuous and 1 reinstated. Annual members should renew before the end of November to help us reach 100% for the CofA in December. If we reach 100% we could receive one free life membership. The free membership is given to a winner from a draw of our annual members who are paid up.

Chaplain Hommel reported P710 ($15.43) was collected for the Relief Fund.
Seam Squirrel Report:
The scratch on 6 Sep went well. Comrade Mike Best was voted in for membership in the Pup Tent. Minutes of meeting posted in the Pup Tent corner of the canteen.
Web Master:
Comrade McClure continues to monitor inquiries to the site. Adjutant Burnett is working with the Web Guy Whey on making changes to the site and getting things ready for the CofA. Two new members were recruited via the website this month.
Building Committee:
Adjutant Burnett sent the lease proposal to the brother-in-law of the owner of the property. Commander said that there are two properties down the street that may be available. Also, Dryden’s Restaurant may be closing soon. PHC Chairman Cox, the SVC and QM will check into it.
C of A :
Comrade Burnett is continuing to work on the CofA. DPA Adjutant sent the agenda for the CofA and SVC and Adjutant will make final arrangements with By-the-Sea.
Beach Bash: : JVC said that the first meeting will be held on 25 Sep at 10am.
Chaplain Hommel led the membership in reciting the National Home Prayer.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
- SVC Alvarez reminded everyone of the FRA Chili-Cook off. The Cooties are providing a team and said maybe the Post would also like to participate. The cook-off will be on the 20th of Oct. There will probably be a beauty contest also.
NEW BUSINESS
- Comrade Sullivan said that Nancy Malori just got out of the hospital and undergoing house care for Hepatitis A. Nancy needs some help in paying hospital/doctors bills. Comrade Correll donated P2500 and asked if the Post could match it. Nancy is a good supporter of the Post and participates in the Beach Bash with beauty contests and dance groups among many other things. Comrade Sullivan made the motion for the Post to donate P2500, seconded by SVC. Carried.
FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER
- Adjutant said that he has raffle tickets from Post 2485 and La Union for sale which are at the bar.
- Comrade Koeppen said that John Frey will be visiting for a days in January. If anyone needs anything contact RC.
- Comrade Sullivan said that Thanksgiving is coming up and he asked that if anyone could afford it, please donate a turkey or ham to the Canteen and other items so that we can service Thanksgiving dinner this year. He also said that he will be holding a Birth Day Party at the Post on 30 Sep starting at 12 (noon). He will hire a band for the event.
- SVC reminded everyone of POW/MIA day at American Legion Post 4. Following ceremony, there will be happy hour and pot luck dinner.
- The Commander announced a break in the meeting so that the Chaplain could say a prayer in remembrance of those who died during the 9/11 attacks.
- RAO Director Gross made a few announcements.
- Retiree Appreciation Day will be on Saturday, 17 Nov.
- Embassy Out Reach is schedule for 19 Oct, but if not enough officers available the date may change. Also there will be a DEERS rep there to answer questions only; he is not there to process paperwork or anything except to answer questions. If you have any questions, contact Chester and he will email them to the rep so he will have an answer when he arrives.
- Chester was admitted a while back into the Mega City Medical Center. It is an excellent hospital with state-of-the-art equipment and excellent staff.
- The newsletter is no longer distributed. Check the website www.raosubic.com . Important announcements will still be posted as needed.
- Comrade Steakley said that pictures of last week’s burial of Comrade Anderson are on the FRA website fra367.org.
- DPA Commander was invited to address the membership.
- Commander Webber said that he attended the National Convention in Kansas City and was surprise to see over 14 DPA members there. One of the highlights saw over two thirds of the delegates voting down the VFW National proposal to increase Plan D fee’s. He also told about his recent visit to Korea and the situation there especially the family members of troops returning from Iraq. Family members are not command sponsor so the troops pay out of their pocket for living quarters etc, for their families. - 50/50 Raffle was won by Commander Rhett Webber. P2000 ($43) was collected, P1000 to the Post Bldg Fund and P1000 to Commander Webber.
