UNFINISHED BUSINESS

-  DPA Commander Ken Schaefer conducted the installation of new officers for the 2007-2008 year. The installation will take affect following the Department Convention in June.

-  Commander explains the status of the McGowan case for termination of membership.  He asked for a motion from the floor for the Post to continue with the request for termination.

Motion made by Comrade Koeppen and seconded by Comrade Best.  Carried.  See April minutes for details and charges/specifications.

-  Quartermaster reported on donations for the labor dispute.  To date $770 has been donated, this includes $270 from members in the U.S.  Donations are still requested from all members.

-  Commander said that he had purchased a new printer that was voted on at the last meeting.  Total cost was P9500 over the approved cost ($10,000). Commander covered the P9500.  The printer is 3 in 1, with copier, fax and scanner.

-   The Adjutant reported that the name change of the Post has been approved by National and a new charter will be sent to the Post.

-    Quartermaster reported that the plaque for the Chili cook-off had been changed and only P100 of the P1000 voted on had been used.

NEW BUSINESS

- Commander said that the Post no longer has any Post 11447 pins. He asked for a motion to be made for the Post to order 100 pins which will cost $153.90. Comrade Phillips made the motion to purchase the pins, seconded by Comrade Best. Comrade Koeppen asked if we needed to order that many since we would probably never get 100 new members. Commander said that the pins are also for sale and other posts have requested some. Vote taken, carried.

FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER

-   Raffle tickets for Fil/Am day (4th July) are ready.  Tickets have already been distributed to some posts.  Each officer will be given 15 books to sell and more are available.  Books are P300, individual tickets P30.  He asked for each officer to try to sell his quota to help the Post General Fund get out of the red.

-   Commander asks Commander Schaefer if he had anything to say.  Commander Schaefer said that it is always good to be at our Post, he enjoys his visits.  He said that the Department needs our help in reaching it membership goal.  District III-Korea has long been the leader in membership, but with troop levels in Korea going down and deployments to Iraq/Afghanistan recruitment in that district has gone down.  He asked if Post 11447 could try to recruit 10 new members.  He also asked us to solicit convention books ads, there are a lot of businesses in Barretto that he was sure would take out an ad.  He reminded everyone to attend the Department Convention 17-22 June in Angeles City.

-   Clark Memorial Day services will be held on 30 May

-   Installation of Post 2485 officers will be held on 19 May with dinner.

-   50/50 Raffle was won by Bob Wright.  P1710 ($36) was collected, P855 to the Post and P855 to Bob. Comrade Wright donated his half to the General Fund, thank you Bob.

Comrade Alvarez gave the Closing Prayer.

Commander adjourned the meeting at 1135. Next meeting will be held at the Post Home at 1000, Wednesday 9 May 2007.
