Wednesday, 10 May 2006.
There were 24 members in attendance.
Comrade Alvarez gave the opening prayer.
Commander led attendees in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and Section 3 of the Congressional Charter.
The Roll Call was taken by the Adjutant and absentee noted (Trustee Truax).

Commander asked if the minutes from the previous meeting had been posted. The Adjutant reported they had, and no comments or changes had been made. Comrade Saunders made motion to accept the minutes as written, seconded by Comrade Alvarez. Carried.
Commander called for the report of the Quartermaster:
QM Burnett presented the report. Comrade Alvarez made the motion to accept the report as presented, seconded by Comrade Koeppen. Carried. The report is on file at the Post home.
Commander called for the Service Officer's
report: Chester Gross has been in and out of the hospital.

PHC Report:
Comrade Cox gave report. PHC Meeting was held on 3 May. PHC members RC Cox, Dan Richmond, Ben Dela Vega and Post Commander were present. Also in attendance were the Canteen Manager, Bob Koeppen and Bill Landry. The Post Quartermaster was excused.
a.
PHC members conducted end of month canteen inventory on 31 Apr.
b.
Trustees Koeppen and Truax audited the Canteen records on 10 May.
c.
PHC meeting has been changed from 1st Wed to 2nd Monday of the month.
d.
The Post Home will be closed on Monday, 12 June for wall-to-wall inventory.
e.
Post Canteen By-laws are due for bi-annual review/update. (Note: Copies of Post and Post Canteen By-laws were distributed to members for review and comments. Recommendations for changes (if any) will be taken at next meeting).
Membership Committee:
SVC Sullivan gave latest stats on membership drive. 345 Life members, 12 new, 10 reinstated and 38 continuous for a total of 405. We are at 104.38%.
Amerasian Scholarship Committee:

Buddy Poppy Chairman: Comrade Alvarez reported P1400 was collected.
Seam Squirrel Report:
Scratch was held 25 June and all had fun.
Web Master:
Comrade Landry said that the person who updates our website is on vacation. Upon his return he will update the site with pictures and other items.
Building Committee:
Commander Correll reported that negotiations would be put on hold with owner of current Post Home. Copy of the lease with the owner was found and the lease is good until August 2008.
Beach Bash Committee:
JVC Boruff gave final Beach Bash Financial Report.
Comrade Alvarez led the membership in reciting the National Home Prayer.

1.
Nominations were opened for the position of Surgeon. Comrade Tom Stone who was elected as Surgeon last month has resigned the position. Comrade Alvarez nominated John T. Brady for the position (accepted). No other nominees. Nominations closed. Nominations will be re-opened at June meeting and election for Surgeon will be held.
2.
Department SVC Schaefer held installation ceremony for the elected officers.

Commander Correll read the following correspondence to the members.
a.
An article from the RAO Bulletin concerning a bill put into law by the State of South Dakota concerning disorderly conduct at military funerals. The law stated that no person may engage in any act of picketing at any funeral service during the period of 1 hour before, during, and 1 after completion of the service, any protesting cannot be within 1000 feet of the service. Commander recommended that members and the Post submit letters to their congressman to enact a similar law nationwide.
b.
An email concerning DD-214. Veterans can now request a copy of their DD-214 on line rather than mailing in Standard Form 180. The website is http://www.archives.gov/st-louis/military-personnel/ . Copy will be posted.
c.
An email from DAV Chapter 3 concerning a breakfast roundtable for heads of veterans organizations with Mr. Skelly to be held at Post 2485 on 16 May. Post Commander will attend.
d.
An email concerning WWII medallion for the battle on Saipan. Copy will be posted at the VFW.
e.
A proposal from Mack McGowan for Special 50th Anniversary of US Naval Hospital Cubi Point. Copy posted.
f.
An email asking if anyone knows the where abouts of OS1 Ross O. Raber, if you know anything contact the Post Adjutant.
2.
50/50 Raffle won by Comrade Burnett. Total of P1400 went to the Building Fund and Comrade Burnett donated his P1400 to the General Fund.
Comrade Alvarez gave the Closing Prayer.
Commander adjourned the meeting at 1140. Next meeting will be held at the Post Home at 1100, Wednesday 14 June 2006.
