Post Commander Correll called the meeting to order at 1000 on Wednesday, 14 Mar 2007.
There were 34 members in attendance.
Comrade Alvarez gave the opening prayer.
Commander led attendees in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and Section 3 of the Congressional Charter.

The Adjutant reported they had, and no comments or changes had been made. Comrade Saunders made motion to accept the minutes as written, seconded by JVC Corbin. Carried.
Commander called for the report of the Quartermaster:
QM Burnett presented the report. He explained some of the expenditures. He also said that the Post General Fund had a good month with receipts about $500 over expenditures. Trustees audited the report on 12 Feb. SVC Boruff made the motion to accept the report as presented, seconded by Comrade Saunders. Carried. The report is on file at the Post home, if anyone wants to see the report contact the Quartermaster.

The meeting was called to order on Monday, 12 Feb by Chairman Cox.

Audits and Reviews:
- Canteen end of the month inventory was done on 28 Feb.
- Trustees audited Canteen records and funds for the month of Feb on 5 Mar.
- PHC reviewed Canteen records and found them to be in good order.
- PHC Chairman Cox inventoried daily draw chips on Feb 28.
PHC Membership:
- Dan Richmond and Ben Dela Vega resigned from PHC, Mike Best has been appointed to replace Ben Dela Vega.
Canteen Managers Report:
- All Canteen expenses have been paid and all bills are current.
- Sales are improving.
- Price of all beer products will be increased by 5 Peso ($.10) on 19 Mar.
- Waitresses and Cashiers will start to take vacations during the slow season from April-June.
- Alcoholic beverages will not be served on (Philippine) Election Day 15 May and the day prior 14 May.
- Had an increase in bar stock inventory due to Beach Bash surplus of cases of beer. There was a decrease in Kitchen stock inventory.
Membership Committee:
SVC Boruff gave report. Life Members 372, New 6, Reinstated 6, Cont 33, Total 417 members.
Quartermaster said that there are four applications for membership being processed.
Amerasian Scholarship Committee:
Comrade Hendricks reported that all 60 students where in the Beach Bash parade and had a good time. The shirts they were wearing were donated by Past Commander Gann and Comrade Buzz Bronson
Buddy Poppy Chairman:
Comrade Alvarez reported P1200 ($25) was collected for the Relief Fund.
Seam Squirrel Report:
Comrade Phillips reported that the Cooties had election of officers at the scratch held on 1 March. Comrade Sullivan was elected as Seam Squirrel.

Beach Bash:
JVC Corbin gave the final financial report for the event. Net profit in dollars was $2558.56. He thanked everyone who participated in making the event very successful. Money is to be used for our scholarship kids and other post projects.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS
The membership by a two-thirds majority vote approved the motion made at the last meeting to correct the Post name on our charter. The corrected name will be “Paul P. Busek”. The Adjutant will send an email to Department Commander stating that the membership had approved the name change. Department Commander will send recommendation to National Headquarters.
Quartermaster reported on donations for the labor dispute. To date $550 has been donated, donations from members outside the Philippines are in the mail. The QM also received $2000 in a load to the Post to be repaid by March 2008. (See last month minutes, under New Business, a copy is on our web site. www.vfw11447.org
Commander Correll said that in an effort to save approx P45,000 ($937), the request to the Security Exchange Commission (SEC) to lift our revocation of our SEC registration has been canceled. We will re-register with the SEC under our current Post number 11447 vice District 7. The Adjutant is redoing our Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws to submit to SEC. In the coming weeks he will be getting with the members for signature on the documents.

Nominations remain open until next meeting. Final nominations and election will be held during the April meeting.
Commander had handouts distributed to the members concerning upcoming Department election of Officers. As it appears that only the position of Department Junior Vice Commander is contested by more than one member the handout contained Letters of Intent for James D. Malott and Barry Hirshbein. The membership will vote at next meeting on which of the two will be endorsed by the Post during the Department Convention in June 2007 at Angeles City, Philippines. The Commander who was voted to carry our delegate votes to the Convention at the last meeting may not be able to attend. Another delegate from the Post or District may have to carry our votes.
FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER
Loyalty Day. JVC Corbin is making preparation for Loyalty Day observance on 1 May.
Comrade Sullivan explained the problems with Western Union and getting money sent to the Philippines. They will not give you the money without a control number from the sender. NFCU in Okinawa will fax the no. to RAO when answering your request.
Comrade Sullivan also said that Swagman Tourist Agency will get you your new ACR for P4000; this includes the $50 that you have to pay immigration for renewal. Renewals must be done before 15 Apr.
Commander reminded everyone about the Fleet Reserve Frolics and said that there were still some District raffle tickets left. Also, we have American Legion 123 tickets on sale.
Commander showed the members a flag that was flown over Al Fallujah, Iraq by our MAP unit on 2 Jan 2007; it came with a Certificate of Authenticity. Commander Correll purchased a flag and had it flown over the “Hellship Memorial “on the base and sent it to our MAP unit, the 3rd Recon Battalion currently serving in Iraq until April. The unit will be in the Philippines for training sometime in June. Many pen pal letters and emails have been sent to the unit from the girls in Olongapo/Subic.
Commander gave the QM 12 pins from VFW Post 2673 in Cody Wyoming. He said that for a donation of P100 you can get one, the money will go to the Relief Fund.
Department Commander Ken Schaefer said that District VII (Philippines) has always been the first to obtain 100% in membership, but said that if we can try to recruit more members as the Department is falling short overall in membership recruiting.
50/50 Raffle was won by Buzz Bronson. P2400 ($50) was collected, P1200 to the Post and P1200 to Buzz.
