Post Junior-Vice Commander Doty called the meeting to order at 1000 on Wednesday, 10 June 2009..
There were 19 members in attendance and no guests.

JVC led attendees in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and Section 3 of the
Congressional Charter.
JVC Doty Asked Commander-Elect Correll to assist with the Commanders Duties until just prior to the closing ceremonies. Commander-Elect Correll assumed command.
The Roll Call was taken by the Adjutant. All present except Commander Gordon-Excused; SVC Spears-Absent; OOD Cox-Excused; Service Officer Gerken-Excused; PHC Member Coletta-Absent; Trustee Koeppen-Excused; Trustee Steakley-Absent; and Guard Haviland-Absent. SVC Spears arrived after the start of the meeting.

Commander asked if the minutes from the previous meeting had been posted:
The Adjutant reported that they had been posted on the website and were sent to all members with an email address on file, and that one minor correction had been requested and made. The motion to accept as corrected was made by Comrade Alvarez. It was seconded by Advocate Phillips. Carried
Commander called for the report of the Quartermaster:
QM Burnett presented the report.
Trustees conducted an audit of QM records on 8 June. No discrepancies were found.

Commander called for the Service Officer’s report:
Reported by Comrade Alvarez. Comrade “Mitch” Mitchell (Not a Post member) passed away on Tuesday or Wednesday, was buried on Saturday, 6 June. Post 2485 took care of the arrangements.

Audits and Reviews:

PHC Members Mike Best and Dave Culotta conducted Post
Canteen end of the month inventory on 31 May.

Daily Draw chips were inventoried by Mike Best on 1 June. All
480 chips were accounted for.

Canteen records and funds were audited by the Trustees on 8 June.
PHC reviewed canteen monthly financial report and found it to be in good order.

Adjutant Doty gave the report gave the report. Life membership stands at 367, 17 new members, 25 continuous and 5 reinstated Total 414 for a percentage of 100.49%.
Amerasian Scholarship Committee:
Reported by Commander-Elect Correll: Kids are in school, ; Supplies have been purchased and distributed. We are on Budget.

Chaplain reported that P500 ( $10.64) had been collected at the bar and at the meeting.

C of A Committee:
Reported by JVC Doty: We do intend to bid on the C of A again at the convention. We also intend to bid on the Annual Department Convention. We have a favorable offer from the Wild Orchid to support our bid.
Comrade Best remarked that we don’t make any money because it is held at the Wild Orchid. JVC Doty responded that we had our best ever results last year.
Beach Bash Committee:
First meeting scheduled for 7 July. All are invited to attend and participate. We need all the help we can get. Anything you can do is appreciated.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Commander-Elect Correll reported that Convention Book ads have been closed. We expect to receive a rebate from the sales of $970.00. That will help our bottom line.
NEW BUSINESS
Commander-Elect Correll made a motion to reimburse JVC Doty for emergency repairs to the Air conditioner in the meeting room. The motion was seconded by Advocate Phillips. JVC Doty explained that the compressor was destroyed by a power outage that lasted only a few seconds. It is policy to turn off air-cons at any power outage, however, that takes a few minutes. Included in the repairs is the addition of a start-delay timer to prevent this from re-occurring.
Comrade Best remarked that we should ask members to donate to help with this cost (Adj. Note: Comrade Best has already donated P1000 toward this effort.) Commander Elect Correll agreed and asked for all donations to be given to Quartermaster Burnett.
The motion carried.
Comrade Elect Correll introduced the proposed budget for the new fiscal year. There have been several cuts, and few additions. After much discussion, the budget was approved. Any member wishing to review the new budget should contact the quartermaster.
Commander Elect Correll mentioned that the drain under the kitchen sink was leaking and needed to be replaced. After much discussion, the item was tabled pending discussion with the building owner.
Commander-Elect Correll brought up the fact that we need to elect our delegates for the upcoming Department Elections. After discussion, Comrade Correll nominated SVC Spears to carry our votes to the convention, and JVC Doty to act as alternate. The delegates were approved.
After Discussion, Barry Hirshbein was chosen for Post support for Dept JVC.
After Discussion, Frank Hilliard was chosen for Post support for Dept Quartermaster.
FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER
Seam Squirrel Sullivan noted that there is a BBQ sponsored by the PHC to bring in business for the canteen on Saturday 13 June.
There will also be a BBQ family fun day on 4 July. The one on 4 July is the big one with music, swimming etc. We are seeking donations for the July 4 BBQ. Food, Beer and Money will all be gratefully accepted. A sign-up sheet is available in the Canteen.
JVC Doty mentioned that there will be a ceremony held at the Hellships Memorial on 1 July at 11:00 by the Australian Government and the RSL. They have requested attendance By VFW members in uniform.
JVC Doty mentioned that the Olongapo city Government has requested members attend the Philippine Independence Day Parade on 12 June at 13:00 in Olongapo City. Check with Adj. Doty for pre-staging area.
Commander-Elect Correll mentioned that the survey forms in the canteen are for the Philippine Commission on Population. They are requesting that we fill them out individually. There is no personally identifying information on the form.
50/50 Raffle was won by Comrade Best. P1700 ($36.17) was collected.
P850 to the winner, P850 to the Post. Comrade Best donated his winnings to the general fund.
