The Adjutant reported they had, and no comments or changes had
been made. Comrade Saunders made motion to accept the minutes as
written, seconded by Comrade Koeppen. Carried.
Commander called for the report of the Quartermaster:
QM Burnett
presented the report. Report was audited on 10 July by Trustees.
Comrade Saunders made the motion to accept the report as presented,
seconded by Comrade Alvarez. Carried. The report is on file at the
Post home, if anyone who wants to see the report contact the
Quartermaster.

Post Commander could not attend due to medical appointment in Manila.
- Audits and Reviews
- Canteen records were audited on 10 Jul by trustees and found to be correct and accurate.
- Chairman Cox reviewed the canteen profit/loss statement and found it to be true and accurate.
- The Canteen By-Law and House Rules were approved by the membership at the last Post meeting.
- Comrade Rich Truax is now collecting funds to pay two
guards severance pay and hire only one civilian guard. This will save
approx P5000 monthly. Comrade Truax is trying to collect P29,000.
P25,000 has been collected to date.
- Canteen Managers Report
- 4th of July Banquet was very successful.
- Saturday steak dinner doing good business.
- No more long distance phone calls. National direct
dialed has been disconnected.
- On Sat 22 Jul, turkey dinner special will be served in conjunction with District Meeting .
- The SCOTS Foundation has a collection box in dining area. Donations of clothing, can goods etc. would be appreciated.
- Canteen bills have been paid for June except Canteen Manager, who has delayed her wages for three months.
- Kitchen will be closed last Sunday of each month at 1300 hours for cleaning, maintenance and inventory.

Membership Committee:
QM Burnett gave the final 2006 membership stats. 345 Life members, 12 new, 10 reinstated and 38 continuous for a total of 405. We are at 104.38%. We also have five new member applications in the mail to National (1 life, 4 annual), approximately 10 transfers will be added to our final membership total. He also showed the proposed price increase in Life Membership and annual dues. If approved they will go into affect 1 Jan 2007. This is about a 78% increase over current prices.
Amerasian Scholarship Committee:
Scholarship Chairwoman Carmen Hendricks made initial tuition payments for the students.
Buddy Poppy Chairman: Comrade Alvarez reported P632 was collected.

Web page has been updated with dates of the upcoming District Meeting and addition of members to Final Roll Call. Dates and location for next Med/Dental Outreach will be added.
Building Committee:
QM has made payment to John Frey for the purchased of his 18KVA generator which has previously been approved by the members. The Commander and other members will inspect the generator and see what is needed to move it to the Post Home. This generator will be able to run everything in the Post Home during brown outs.
Comrade Alvarez led the membership in reciting the National Home Prayer.

NEW BUSINESS
1.
The computer in the Post office has no internet hookup due to bad modem. The Commander has looked into various options for a new internet system. The best he could find was Smart Wireless which will cost P1000 for hookup and P999 payment per month. If another computer could be donated to the post or if one found at a good price, it could be made available for membership use at a modest price. Smart Wireless has 384 kbps vice 28 currently being used with PIOL. Comrade Alvarez made motion that the Post have Smart Wireless installed. Seconded by Comrade Brady. Carried.
2.
Commander read to the membership from a pamphlet from VFW National Home for Children concerning Life Membership. The Post or any individual can get Life Membership in the National Home for $35. Comrade Saunders made motion for the Post to apply for Life Membership in the National Home for Children. Seconded by Comrade Alvarez. Carried.
3. Commander discussed some items that came up during the Department Convention. He mention the price increase as shown earlier by the QM. The annual fee for Continuous members will be increased by National from 14.50 to 17.50. The post may have to increase its price from $25 to $30 the first increase in the 13 years of the post. Comrade Saunders made motion that the Post increase it price for Annual Membership from $25 to $30 on 1 Jan 2007 whether the proposal is approved at the National Convention or not. Seconded by Comrade Alvarez. Carried.
FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER
1.
New member Scott Ludwig donated $150 to the Post. The money is to be distributed with $50 each to the Scholarship Fund, Building Fund and Med/Dental Outreach Program.
2.
Comrade Mike Gallant said that the Football pools for this season are ready.
3.
Comrade John Frey said that he is celebrating his birthday at the Post Home (meeting area) on 19 July at 1300. Food and beverages will be served. However, no beverages can be taken out to the bar area. If you want to drink at the bar, buy your own.
4.
Commander explained the VOD/Patriot Pen Programs. Asked for membership to try to find children of members or others who may be interested. The children must be U.S. citizens. Pamphlets are available at the Post.
5. Commander read to the membership several awards to the Post that he received from the Department of Pacific Areas at the Department Convention. The Post was awarded a Cert. Of Achievement for obtaining 100% in membership 2005-6. The Post was awarded a Cert. Of Appreciation for a job well done hosting the CofA last Dec 2005. A Cert. Of Appreciation was awarded to the Post for completing the 2nd highest number of Americanism and Loyalty Day Projects in Division IV. The Post also received Cert. Of Appreciation from VFW CIC Mueller for the Post support of the Political Action Committee.
6. Adjutant read to Membership two emails. First was from Les Edelman a U.S. tax advisor who will be taking a three week vacation in Barretto 21 Jul-Aug 10. While here he would be available for free tax consultations (up to 1 hour). He will review tax returns, and answer questions about U.S. taxation rules for expats. If interested he can be emailed at Lea@edelmantax.com . This is for members information only and not run by nor endorsed by the Post. The second email was from the family of Lee Leftridge (formerly a resident Subic/Barretto area). Lee passed away from a major stroke (his third) on 4 Jul. He was living in Las Vegas and will be buried at the military cemetery in Boulder City. While not a member of the Post he was known by many here.
7. 50/50 Raffle was won by Commander Correll. Total of P2100 was collected, P1050 to the Building Fund and Commander Correll donated his P1050 to the Relief Fund.
(Note: Following meeting Comrade Michael P. Storemski transfer his membership to the Post and donated $100 to the Building Fund and $100 to the General Fund. Thank you Michael.)
