UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Past Commander Correll requested a report from QM Burnett regarding the SEC registration.
Two Signatures still needed on the registration form. Because QM has to return to the “States” for a short while, so there will be another delay in filing.
Nominations were re-opened for JVC for the remainder of this term. A motion was made by Past Commander Correll to vote by “show of hands” in the event that there was a member running un-opposed. The motion was seconded by comrade Best. Carried.
No further nominations were made. Comrade Doty was elected to fill the position of JVC.
A motion was tabled last month requesting that the Building Fund balance be transferred to the general fund. The motion had been made by Comrade Wright. Letters were to be sent out to all major contributors requesting input. The letters were not sent due to confusion. A significant discussion was carried out. On the advice of Past Commander Correll, it was determined that the motion could not be tabled again. A vote was held and the motion was defeated.
NEW BUSINESS
A motion was again made by Comrade Wright and seconded by Comrade Koeppen to transfer the Building Fund to the General Fund. A discussion was held and from comments on the floor, it became obvious that there was insufficient support for the motion at this time. Comrade Wright withdrew his motion.
A motion was made by Past Commander Correll that for the upcoming officer elections, votes be held by “show of Hands” for un-opposed positions and by written ballots for opposed positions. The motion was seconded by Comrade Best. Carried.
A motion was made by Past Commander Correll To use the $100.00 membership donation from district to pay the annual dues of some members to raise our membership percentage. The motion was seconded by Comrade Phillips. Discussion ensued. Motioned was modified to use the money to assist a selected new life member. The Member is to be approved by membership committee. Motion Carried.
FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER
Comrade Koeppen mentioned again that member Gary Washburn Still owes the Relief fund P10,000 ($200.00) from a loan made several years ago. If you happen to see Comrade Washburn you might mention this to him!
Comrade Sullivan brought up that each year we have a problem getting a stage for the Beach Bash. He volunteered to look into obtaining a stage for the post. No discussion was held about how to pay for the stage at this point. Past Commander Correll stated that a new Cootie had a line on an organization who may be persuaded to donate a stage to the post. Comrade Koeppen asked an obvious question. “Where are we going to store it”, stating that we have several pieces of equipment that we cannot locate at this time because it is stored at someone’s home. Several members are looking into these matters in an attempt to find a resolution.
Comrade Bronson mentioned that the Canteen Manager has supplied half of the rent for the last three months. This is a significant improvement over years past.
Comrade Schrauben mentioned that, in addition to several members who have not paid their VFW annual membership fees, There remain several American Legion and FRA members who are delinquent for 2009. Please pay your dues if this applies to you.
Past Commander Correll requested that any member who has not joined the “Grave Diggers” fund to please do so. Cost is only $25.00 lifetime. You can signup your self, your spouse, your kids, even your pets. The money is needed to maintain the Clark Cemetery.
Also please join in support of our National Home. Cost is only $35.00 one time ($40.00 with pin). Again, anyone can be a member. We are striving for 100% of this post being members.
Comrade Best expressed the thanks of the Shriners for the support of the post members and others for Crippled Children shown at the Beach Bash.
Past Commander Correll agreed that the organization is worthy. However he objected to other organizations walking about at our major fund-raiser soliciting funds. He stated that it is acceptable to collect donations within the confines of their tents.
Comrade Koeppen noted that thanks are in order for the few people on the Beach Bash committee who put in so much effort to ensure that the event was successful
50/50 Raffle was won by Comrade Alvarado. P2300 ($48.94) was collected.
P1150 to the winner, P1150 to the Post.
Chaplain Richmond gave the Closing Prayer.
