Post Commander Alvarez called the meeting to order at 1000 on Wednesday, 12 Dec 2007.
There were 26 members in attendance and two guests.
Chaplain Hommel gave the opening prayer.
Commander led attendees in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and Section 3 of the Congressional Charter.
The Roll Call was taken by the Adjutant. All present except Advocate Jim Correll who was excused and Surgeon Nirza and PHC Member “OB” O’Briant who were absent.

Commander asked if the minutes from the previous meeting had been posted:
The Adjutant reported they had and no comments or changes made. Comrade Best made the motion to accept the minutes as posted, seconded by Comrade Doty. Carried.
Commander called for the report of the Quartermaster:
QM Burnett presented the report. Trustees conducted an audited of QM records on 3 Dec. QM said that the large expenditures for the month were the business permit quarterly report, fire inspection and refill of extinguishers, insurance policy and shirts for the CofA. Comrade Best made the motion to accept the report as presented, seconded by Comrade Koeppen. Carried. The report is on file at the Post home, if anyone wants to see the report contact the Quartermaster.
Commander called for the Service Officer’s report:
Comrade Chester Gross is still in the hospital. Non-member but a good patron at the Post canteen Aussie Phil passed away 11 Dec due to cancer. Will be cremated on the 13th and ashes spread over Subic Bay on Friday the 14th. Aussie Phil served in Vietnam with the Australian Army. He will be missed.

PHC Chairman Cox reported. Highlights of report:
Meeting was called to order at 0900 on 10 Dec by Chairman Cox. The following members were present: Commander Alvarez, QM Burnett, Chairman Cox, PHC Members O’Briant and Best, JVC Gordon, Buzz Bronson. Bob Koeppen, Dennis Doty and Canteen Manager Cora
- Audit and Reviews
- PHC Members Mike Best and RC Cox conducted Post canteen end of the month inventory and daily chips on 30 Nov. All 480 chips were accounted for.
- Canteen records and funds were audited by the Trustees on 3 Dec.

PHC reviewed canteen monthly financial report and found it to be in good order.
- Canteen Managers Report: The Canteen had a very successful month due to the many donations from our members for Thanksgiving Day dinner. 122 dinners were sold. Had total donations of 11 turkeys, 4hams, 10 pumpkin pies, 11 yams, 12 cans cranberry sauce and two cases of Beer na Beer. However ran out of ham and pumpkin pie.
Canteen bills have been paid for this month. Kitchen sales have been greatly improved from previous month. Bar sales were down but inventories are good.
Membership Committee:
SVC gave the report. Life membership stands at 368, 6 new members, 18 continuous and 1 reinstated for a percentage of 92.91. Two annual members’ dues are being processed. Annual members who have not paid yet please do so.
Amerasian Scholarship Committee:
SVC said that a sign up list for donations to the Scholarship kids Christmas party is posted. Donors can either purchase a present for a child or give P300 to him or Carmen. Just write you name on the list beside the name of a child. The Scholarship Christmas party will be held on 15 Dec. SVC said that Dist IV Commander (and PT 11 Cootie) donated $1000 to the Scholarship Fund, THANK YOU ORVILLE!
Buddy Poppy Chairman:
Chaplain Hommel reported P650 ($16.25) was collected for the Relief Fund.
Seam Squirrel Report:
We had a Great CofA last week. Thanks to all members who help make it successful. The Hospitality Room was a lot of fun and old friends got to see each other again and many new friends were met. Seam Squirrel said that there was a new application to join the PT. The Hungry Cootie (Adjutant Burnett) read the application of Wayne Gordon to the membership. Motion was made to approve the application. A vote was taken and motion approved.

Adjutant will send email again to the owners. Will have to get serious, starting in Dec to find another place as we only have until Aug on current lease.
C of A :
Comrade Burnett reported that the event was a great success but turn-out was slightly less than last year’s. A final report of financial status will be presented at next meeting.
Beach Bash: SVC said that the next meeting is at 1000 18 Dec at Mango’s. The SVC and JVC will be delivering letters to request donations. They will also go to Filipino Casino in Olongapo to get permission to operate Bingo games at the Bash. American Legion Post 4 Commander said that he is well known at the casino and will go along.
Comrade Hommel led the membership in reciting the National Home Prayer.

FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER
- SVC Hendricks said that the Dynamic Women’s Order would like to hold the annual Christmas gift giving event in front of the Post home on 23 Dec to give gifts to needy people of the Barrio. Comrade Phillips made the motion to allow the group to use the space, seconded by Comrade Best.
- Adjutant Burnett said that besides the $1000 donation to the Scholarship Fund. Dist IV Commander Humfleet also donated $500 to the Post and $500 to the Pup Tent. Thank you again Orville.
- Commander said that he had 100 raffle tickets from the City of Olongapo for sale.
- The Commander invited the guests to speak. Dept SVC Lyons said that he always enjoys visiting 11447. He said the Post did a great job at the CofA and likes the idea of passing out clothes and food to needy residents. Things like this help membership and if the Post keeps up the good community work the 92% in membership will surely rise. SVC Lyons also said that he is running for Department Commander next year and requested the Post support.
- Comrade Humfleet said that he appreciated the great job done by the Post and for the extra support.
- Comrade Herb Scholten said that the American Legion Department of the Philippines will hold its Annual Convention at Post 4 Olongapo City on 18, 19 and 20 April 2008.
- Final note, the Commander said that on the 24th of Dec he would present a plaque to the members of C company, 1st Fleet Anti-Terrorist Group at 1400, and invited all Post members to attend.
- 50/50 Raffle was won by Comrade Scholten . P2200 ($55) was collected, P1100 to the Post Bldg Fund and P1100 to the winner. Chaplain Hommel gave the Closing Prayer.
