| Post Commander Correll called the meeting
to order at 1100 on Wednesday, 14 Dec 2005.
There were 29 members in attendance.
Post Chaplain Jerry Rowe gave the opening prayer.
Commander led attendees in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance
and Section 3 of the Congressional Charter.
The Roll Call was taken by the Adjutant and absentees
noted.
Commander called for new recruits:
New member Wayne E. Gordon was introduced.
Commander called for distinguished guests:
None.
Commander asked if the minutes from the previous meeting
had been
posted. The Adjutant reported they had, and no comments
or changes had
been made. JVC Boruff made motion to accept the minutes
as written,
seconded by Comrade Saunders. Carried. Note. Starting
this month
minutes will be sent to members who we have email addresses
for.
Commander called for the report of the Quartermaster:
Comrade Burnett gave the QM report. Trustee
audit was completed on 7 Dec 2005.
Comrade Phillips made the motion to accept the report
as presented, seconded by Comrade Saunders. Carried.
Quartermaster reported to the membership the results
of the recent C of A. The C of A was very successful
with favorable comments from most attendees. The Post
made a profit of $1,183.87 from the C of A, also during
the C of A, the Post received $1,000 from Post 727 and
our PT 11 members living in Taiwan for the Building
Fund. Also received $100 from Department Commander Dave
Teets for the Building Fund. In addition, the Post received
$90 in Buddy Poppies donations. QM gave a thank you
for everyone's contributions. The QM also gave a thank
you to Tom Wash for his $500 donation to the Post Scholarship
Fund.

PHC Report:
VFW Post 11447 PHC monthly meeting was held
7 December, 2005. The meeting commenced at 0900 - the
following were present: Mike Kelly, James Correll, Buzz
Bronson, John Frey, Tom Burnett, Carmen Hendricks, Dan
Richmond and Jay Hammond.
a. John Frey continues to investigate smoke eaters,
he has found in the local area a combination smoke eater/air-conditioning
unit.
b. The sign pointing to the Post home is finished
and installed, thank you to John Frey for providing
material and Post employee Wilson who painted the pole
and sign and installed it.
c. The situation concerning security guards as reported
in last months minutes is still ongoing.
d. Back in June a COLA was pass by Philippine Government
for Filipino employees at P20 per day. Post was not
aware of this and now has a debt of approx. P30,000
in back wages. Canteen Manager is working on a solution
to catch up payments to employees. If any member sees
something in the paper concerning employee wages please
contact
the Canteen Manager, Post Home Committee members or
any Post officer. The Dept of Labor does not send out
notice to employers.
e. The interior of the Post Home will be painted in
January. Volunteers are needed to help prep and paint.
Painting will be done in the evenings between 8-10 pm.
Sign up sheet is posted at the entrance of the Post.
f. PIOL (Internet server) will installed in the Post
home a wireless internet. This is being done on a test
basis and each member can use it free with a 15-20 minute
limit. POC is James Bryson (JB). Installation date unknown
at this time
Membership Committee:
SVC Sullivan gave latest stats on membership drive.
340 Life Members,11 new, 7 reinstated and 23 continuous
for a total of 390. We are at 101.00%. Members were
encourage to go out and remind our annual members to
pay their dues.
Amerasian Scholarship Committee:
The children's Christmas party is scheduled for the
18th. Approx 15 kids do not have
volunteers for presents, the list is posted on the front
bulletin board, each present should cost at least P250,
if you do not want to give a present you can give the
Canteen Manager P250 and she will buy the present for
you.
Buddy Poppy Chairman: Comrade Rowe reported P753 was
collected.
Seam Squirrel Report:
Comrade Phillips gave a report on Cootie Social during
the CofA. The Social was very successful, probably the
best in many years if not ever. The Social was held
at Lagoon Resort on Baloy Beach.

CofA: Post 11447 hosted the CofA
Dec 2-4 2005. Venue was at By-the-Sea Hotel on National
Hi-way, Barrio Barretto. It was very successful. A well
done is given to all members and Post employees who
helped make this event the success it was. See QM remarks
above. Comrade Sandlin with assistance from the Adjutant
will make an article
for the website, Typhoon and Rim of the Pacific publications
concerning the CofA
Building Committee: NTR
Beach Bash: Dates for the Bash is
16-19 Feb 2006. Watch the website for updates. Comrade
Boruff needs help in soliciting donations; also need
other members to help out with setting up/tearing down
the stage, props etc. and help in other areas. Contact
Comrade Boruff. A sign-up list will be posted on the
bulletin board.
Comrade Rowe led the membership in reciting the National
Home Prayer.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Nominations were reopened for the position of Post
Surgeon. Comrade John Corbin only member nominated.
Nominations were close. Post Advocate Phillips made
the motion that the Adjutant cast one unanimous ballot
for John Corbin as Post Surgeon. Seconded by Comrade
Alvarez. Comrade Corbin elected as new Post Surgeon.
NEW BUSINESS
1. A motion was made by Comrade Phillips to approved
a budget change for a member to attend the Dept Admin
Convention in Bangkok. The motion was to approve funds
for the member going to the convention for travel, hotel
and meals. The budget change presented would be $700
for the trip but not to exceed $1000. The member would
carry the delegate
votes and make an offer for the Post to host the 2006
C of A. Seconded by Comrade Corbin. Carried
2. Motion was made for the Post Commander to carry
the delegate votes to the Convention. Seconded by Comrade
Phillips. Carried
3. Christmas Parties. The party for the Scholarship
children will be held on the 18th of Dec. Still need
sponsors for 15 children. The party for membership children
will also be held on the 18th. Lynn Miller volunteer
to handle the preparations for the party and supervise.
The Commander made motions that candies and snacks be
purchased from Post General Funds for the event. P6000
will be made available for the Scholarship party and
P3000 for the membership children party. Seconded by
Comrade Corbin. Comrade Sandlin said that
he could donate toys from his previous business. Carried.
4. Comrades Corbin and Rowe were sworn in as Post Surgeon
and Post Chaplain.
FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER
1. District V11 raffle books have been sitting at the
bar unsold for two months. All post officers were give
5 books each to sell.
2. Commander read a letter from Global City Innovative
College Subic International Inc. for donations of medical
books to the college.
3. Commander read an email from HVC giving new address
and phone numbers. HVC main office is now located at

4. Commander read an email from Jerry Prinz concerning
accommodations at the Baguio Country club for the upcoming
VFW 124 fun day/district meeting (8-9 Feb). POC is Alex

5. Commander read email from Jerry Prinz concerning
the recent C of A. Excerpt "On behalf of the Grand
of Pacific, I want to thank you for your hospitality
and professional hosting of the C of A and Grand Scratch.
All venues were excellent. Please pass on to your troops
in the Post and Pup tent a sincere Well Done!"
6. Commander introduced Christopher Bell, the new Service
Officer.
7. John Frey has an abundant of Spanish Bayonet plants
at his residence. He will donate some to the Post and
any plants not needed could be given to members for
a small donation to the Post.
8. Comrade Alvarez passed out applications for VVA
membership.
9 Commander Correll reminded everyone to update the
phone book at the bar, and to provide the Adjutant with
their email address if they have one.
10. 50/50 Raffle won by Comrade Lynn Miller. He donated
his winnings to the Building Fund. Total of P2,200 went
to the Building Fund.
Comrade Rowe gave the Closing Prayer.
Commander adjourned the meeting at 12:35. Next meeting
will be held at the Post Home at 1100, Wednesday 11
Jan 2006.
