OPENING CEREMONIES: Commander Doty called the meeting to order at 1000 hours, 10 April. Opening ceremonies were held according to VFW Ritual. Twenty two Post 11447 members were present and two visiting from other Posts.
ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS: The Roll Call was taken by Adjutant Burnett. Nine officers were present; four officers were absent.
NEW RECRUITS: No new recruits.
DISTINGUISHED GUESTS: Commander recognized American Legion Post 4 Commander Chris Schrauben and FRA 367 Secretary Scott Simms (both Post members).
MINUTES: Commander asked if the minutes from the previous meeting had been posted. The Adjutant said that a copy of the minutes were posted on the bulletin board and sent to members via email, and posted on our website. The Adjutant made the motion to accept the minutes as written and posted, seconded by Comrade Spears, motion carried.
QUARTERMASTER REPORT: Commander called for the report of the Quartermaster:
QM Burnett presented the report and made the motion to accept the report as audited. Seconded by Comrade Middleton, motion carried. The report is on file, if anyone wants to see the QM report, contact the QM.
The Beach Bash had a profit of over $3300, there are still a few items to be paid for such as banners for the various participants. However the cost should not put the profit below $3000. Thank you to all who participated and special thanks to Beach Bash Chairman Jerry Rowe.
SERVICE OFFICER REPORT: Service Officer is busy at the RAO with widow of Jack Doyle and other people.
SURGEON'S REPORT: Surgeon absent.
COMRADE OR FAMILY MEMBER IN DISTRESS: Comrade Doyle who has been in the hospital for several months died on 6 Apr. His remains are at St. Martin’s Funeral Pallor for viewing. Burial arrangements are in the works, he will probably be buried on Friday, 12 Apr at 10am at Clark Veterans Cemetery in Angeles. Comrade Callahan went to another hospital for a second opinion concerning Colon cancer and was told he is cancer free. Comrade Corbin’s Prostate surgery went well and is out of the hospital and was at today’s meeting. Comrade Rich Moran is out of the hospital and at home but is having serious reactions to one of his medications.
COMMANDER CALLED FOR COMMITTEE REPORTS:
MEMBERSHIP REPORT: QM Burnett gave the report.
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: There has not been a field trip for the kids this year. Carmen Mayo (Hendricks) is going to the states soon to take care some business. We may be able to get a trip for them at SBMA, i.e. Zoobic Safari or another venue. Note: Following the meeting the Commander met with Carmen and she said that everything has been arranged for the field trip and school supplies for next year. School supplies will cost P20,000 ($493).
BUDDY POPPY CHAIRMAN: Chaplain Alvarado reported that P536 ($13.23) was collected at the meeting for the Relief Fund. Thank you.

POST HOUSE/BUILDING COMMITTEE: Comrade Best reported that an inventory was conducted at the end of March. The Canteen is doing well even though we had a minor lost in profit. This is normally a slow time of the year.
BEACH BASH COMMITTEE: We had a great Beach Bash. Thanks to all who participated and those who attended the event. Supporter banners are in the works for the sponsors.
PUP TENT 11: Seam Squirrel Rowe said that they had a lousy Scratch.
VFW NATIONAL HOME FOR CHILDREN: Commander asked the Acting Chaplain Verville to say a prayer for our National Home for Children.

Comrade Mike Verville made the motion that the Adjutant cast one unanimous vote for each Officer as none are contested. Seconded by Comrade Corbin. Motion carried.
Commander said that about a year ago the Post members voted to purchase and/or repair some of tents. Since this has been a while he entertained a motion for the Post to purchase one 12x12 and one 12x16 tent. John Corbin made the motion and Comrade Best seconded it. Motion carried.
Commander said that we need some sturdy chairs that do not break. The ones we have are old and getting fragile. He asked that someone would make a motion to purchase 16 chairs. Comrade Best made the motion and seconded by Comrade Corbin. Comrade Verville said that the chairs need rubber on the legs where they contact the floor so that they will not slip. Following discussion a vote was taken and approved for the purchase.
Adjutant Burnett read a letter from American Legion Department of the Philippines for ads for the Convention Book. The Convention will be held 20-22 June at the Ayenues of Flavors Resto (formerly White House Hotel) in Angeles. Adjutant made the motion for the Post to purchase a full page color ad for $200 (P8200). Seconded by Comrade Middleton. Comrade Verville said that maybe the Post and Pup Tent could get together and do an ad together and split the cost. The Commander said that this would have to be brought up at the Pup Tent Scratch. Comrade Schrauben said that the ad has to be submitted by 21 May. Following discussion the members voted for approval of purchasing the ad.
FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER
Comrade Rowe said that there are shirts and new hats for sale. Shirts are P400 and hats P300.
The Commander said that if anyone asks the Canteen to order food or drinks from the vendors through the Canteen they will have to pay 20% mark-up. This is due to time consumed by the workers, storage space in freezer or refrigerator until picked up and floor space in Canteen for cases of drinks.
Fifty/fifty: Comrade Verville won the 50/50 raffle. P2000 was collected.
CLOSING CEREMONIES: Closing Ceremonies were held according to Ritual and the meeting was adjourned at 1105 hours. The next GMM will be held 8 May 2013 at 1000 hours at the Post Home.
