Post Senior Vice Commander Spears called the meeting to order at 1000 on Wednesday, 8 Apr 2009.
There were 35 members in attendance and no guest.
Chaplain Richmond gave the opening prayer
SVC led attendees in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and Section 3 of the
Congressional Charter.
The Roll Call was taken by the Adjutant. All present except Commander Gordon,-Excused; PHC Member Coletta Absent; and Guard Haviland-Absent.

The Adjutant reported that they had been posted on the website and were sent to all members with an email address on file, and that one correction had been made. The motion to accept as corrected was made by Past Commander Correll, seconded by Comrade Best. Carried
Commander called for the report of the Quartermaster:
QM Burnett presented the report.
Trustees conducted an audit of QM records on 8 Apr. No discrepancies were found.
Past Commander Correll made the motion to accept the report as presented, seconded by
Comrade Best. Carried. The report is on file at the Post home, if anyone wants to see the
Report, contact the Quartermaster.
Commander called for the Service Officer’s report:
Reported by Service officer Gerken.
Attended 36 Veterans / Widows.
Successfully assisted two Veterans get VA approval for “Service Connected” status on their medical problems.

Comrade Koeppen reported, Comrade Harold “Mike” Pickens is ill, and mostly stuck at home. He will accept visitors, but only with advance notice. If you know Mike, Please give him a call, and stop by to visit him when he is available. Also Comrade Billman is having trouble with his legs. It is reported that this is diabetes related. Comrade Billman still visits the post home about once per week. A phone Call or visit to let him know he is cared for would be good.

Audits and Reviews:

PHC Members R.C. Cox and Dave Culotta conducted Post
canteen end of the month inventory on 31 Mar.

Daily Draw chips were inventoried by Mike Best on 31 Mar.
All 480 chips were accounted for.

Canteen records and funds were audited by the Trustees on (Pending).
- PHC reviewed canteen monthly financial report and found it to be in good order.
Employee's salaries increased due to required payment of COLA.
Trustee Koeppen explained that the delay in the audit was caused because the canteen manager was very busy on the Beach Bash, in January and in February. Then in March, the Trustees were busy with the Fralics. The audit will be completed as soon as all necessary members can arrange a meeting.
Membership Committee:
Adjutant Doty gave the report gave the report. Life membership stands at 367, 13 new members, 5 continuous and 24 reinstated Total 409 for a percentage of 99.274%.

Another Good Scratch. Great Fralics. Good results on the Sno-Cones (especially the adult variety), Chili cook-off went well, but no winners this time.

Adjutants note: PHC 2 year (RC COX) reported that he intended to resign, and that a replacement will be required. Verbal resignation was NOT accepted by the Commander.

An additional change to our by-laws has been recommended by the QM to increase the monthly authorized expenditures for the PHC for Emergency Repairs to $100 from $ 50.00. Past Commander Correll’s motion to amend the Post By-Laws was reviewed by our esteemed Department Judge-Advocate Bill Wichmann. He has recommended several changes to bring our by-laws into compliance with National Standards. What Comrade Wichmann is proposing reflects no change to our by-laws, only legal wording. The proposed changes are submitted to the membership for approval. As a twenty day period is required for members to review proposed changes, we will vote on these changes at the May General Meeting
JVC Doty made a motion for the post to pay for some emergency repairs to the post home.
These include:
Repair to dining room aircon caused by electric company. P5800
Cleaning of dining room aircon P800
Installation of exhaust fan in kitchen P5500
The motion was seconded by Comrade Best-- carried
JVC Doty made a motion for the Post to purchase and install a separate water meter. This requirement is in the lease agreement.
After discussion, it was agreed to table the matter until next month to allow more information.

Comrade Steakley informed all members that the FRA Fralics made about P100,000
Comrade Tyler reminded all members that the Embassy Outreach will be held on Friday, Apr.17, 08:00 until 11:30. AN IMPORTANT PIECE OF INFORMATION HERE!!! Dollars will no longer be accepted! Peso’s only!!
S.O.Gerken noted that President Obama’s tax program will result in members receiving more on the monthly pensions, but will require that they be paid back in income taxes next year!
