| Post Commander Correll called the meeting to order at 1100 on Wednesday, 15 Feb 2006.
There were 26 members and four guests in attendance.
Post Chaplain Jerry Rowe gave the opening prayer.
Commander led attendees in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and
Section 3 of the Congressional Charter.
The Roll Call was taken by the Adjutant and absentees noted.

Dept JVC Rhett Webber was
introduced. Past Commander of Post 10122 in New Jersey, Frank Chupko
introduced himself, he is visiting the Philippines.
Commander asked if the minutes from the previous meeting had been posted. The Adjutant reported they had, and no comments or changes had been made. Comrade Alvarez made motion to accept the minutes as written, seconded by Comrade Corbin. Carried.
Commander called for the report of the Quartermaster:
Comrade Burnett gave the QM report. Trustee audit was completed on 1 Feb 2006.

PHC Report:
Comrade Richman gave report. Only part of the report is given here, the complete report is on file and posted on the bulletin board.

New canteen manger, Erlinda Nirza "Sassy" was hired.
b.
After the beach bash, the tent cover needs to be repaired.

Bob Koeppen mention that at the next regular post meeting to acknowledge the good job done by those who painted the canteen and dining area.

Jay Hammond resigned, as PHC Chairman and member Mike Kelly will be leaving for employment in Guam soon. Comrade Ralph Cox "RC" was appointed to the PHC.
e.
The Canteen only has P12, 000 in funds, the electric and other bills are due. Will make a motion during new business for additional funds for the canteen.
Membership Committee:
SVC Sullivan gave latest stats on membership drive. 344 Life members, 11 new, 9 reinstated and 37 continuous for a total of 401. We are at 103.35%. Commander Correll said for the Department to compete for All-American the post would have to recruit 15 new members before June. All posts in the Department need to bring in new recruits.
Amerasian Scholarship Committee:
Carmen Hendricks was not present. Commander said that she told him that the scholarship students would participate in the beach bash parade and all were given new shirts to wear.
Buddy Poppy Chairman:
Comrade Rowe reported P500 was collected.

Building Committee:
Commander Correll reported that negotiations had ended with the owner of the Blarney Stone (see last months minutes). The owner kept on changing terms for the lease/sale of the building. Post will continue to look for new lot/building.
Beach Bash Committee:
Dates for the Bash is 15-19 Feb. The stage is currently under construction. Comrade Boruff said that ticket sales are low, 415 books have been printed and only 100 have been sold. Commander Correll asked all members to get some books and try to sell more tickets. To date P108,890 has been received in ticket sales and other sources, expenses to date P83,850. The Commander reminded members to buy their beach bash booster pins and wear them, also to purchase some for their kids, wife's and others

NEW BUSINESS
1.
Comrade Frey is moving back to the states in May and has many items for sale. He is selling his 18kw diesel generator for P70, 000 but will offer it to the Post for P60, 000 or $1000. The generator is in good condition and he bought it new less than two years ago. Our present generator cannot handle the load required by the Post during brown outs (only 7.5kw). Comrade Frey made the motion for the Post to buy the generator, seconded by Comrade Boruff. Comrade Truax made a motion to modify the previous motion to include that funds for the purchase come out of the Building Fund. Seconded by Comrade Miller. Vote was taken and membership voted for the generator to be purchased and funds to come out of the Building Fund.

The Commander said that the received an email from Barry Hirshbein, the Dept PAC Chairman concerning PAC donations. To date he has received $1,100 and needs $350 for the Dept to received the National Plaque. He asked all posts that have not donated yet to do so and posts who have donated less than $100 to do so if they can. Donations must be in before the VFW National Convention. Commander Correll asked for someone to make a motion for the Post to increase its donation to $100. The Post had previously sent in a check for $25. Comrade Corbin made the motion that the Post increase its donation by sending in another $75. Seconded by Comrade Boruff. Carried.
3.
Canteen Funds. Comrade Richmond made a motion for a grant of P38,000 for canteen operations. Seconded by Comrade Koeppen. After a lengthy discussion it was decided that the canteen would be given P40,000 and not to make any changes to current operations by the PHC until July or August to give the new manager time to settle in and make any changes she deems necessary for improvement. Carried
FOR THE GOOD OF THE ORDER
1.
Commander Correll told the membership that Larry Lyons SVC of Post 11016 and Barry Hirshbein, the PAC Chairman were running for the position of Dept JVC. Comrade Alvarez made the motion that the Post supports Comrade Lyons for Dept JVC. Seconded by Comrade Musick. Carried.
2.
The Commander also told the membership that Ken Schaefer was running for Dept Commander. Comrade Alvarez made the motion that the Post supports Ken Schaefer for Dept Commander. Seconded by Comrade Rowe. Carried
3.
Dept JVC Webber is running for the position of Dept SVC. Comrade Alvarez made the motion that the Post supports JVC Webber for Dept SVC. Seconded by Comrade Corbin. Carried.
4.
The Commander gave details concerning the upcoming Department Convention in Bangkok . If anyone is going they need to register with Post 9951 on their website www.vfwpost9876.org dates for the convention are 17-22 June. The registration form has details about lodging, tours, banquet, etc.
5.
Dept JVC Webber made some comments to the membership about National Awards and the upcoming convention. He said that it is very likely that life membership dues will be increased at the National Convention this year.
6.
Comrade Koeppen said that now that the football season is over, the membership should show its appreciation to the personnel that ran the pools. Namely Lee Andersen, Bill Landry and Mike Gallant.
7.
The Commander read a letter from National Director for Membership, which congratulated the members for achieving over 100% in membership for the 2005-2006 year. The letter came with a streamer, which was shown and will be placed on the flagpole.
8.
Commander Correll presented a $25 gift certificate to QM Burnett from National for their appreciation in his efforts in recruiting new members.
9.
50/50 Raffle won by Comrade John Frey. Total of P1,200 went to the Building Fund.
Comrade Rowe gave the Closing Prayer.
Commander adjourned the meeting at 12:05. Next meeting will be held at the Post Home at 1100, Wednesday 8 Mar 2006.
