VFW POST 11447 - Paul P. Busek
  SCHOLARSHIP KIDS GOING ON FIELD TRIP
 
On September 1992, the first Post meeting was held at Blue Jeans Bar in Barrio Barretto, Subic Bay , Philippines. Through the hardwork and determination of the veterans, Post 11447 Paul P. Busek was established.

Paul P. Busek was selected as the namesake of the Post. He was a friend and inspiration to many of our members during his life in the Navy here in the Philippines.

Establishment of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #11447, Barrio Barretto, Philippines was reported in October issue of VFW magazine of the same year.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Kalaklan Gate Closed for Renovation
All Travelers to SBMA and Baretto: On 21st of June 2010, the Kalaklan (the one at the Olongapo Cemetery) will be closed for the rest of this year and into 2011 as they are building a new bridge and using the old bridge for cranes during the construction. The old bridge will be torn down. Travelers going to baretto or Subic must now go out the Rizal Avenue gate (at Gordon General Hospital), or the 14th Avenue Gate, and drive through Olongapo. Traffic is expected to be terrible during this timeframe.

The Main Gate is still closed with no schedule date to reopen.
 
Post Membership Meetings
Post General Membership meetings will be held at "Keiths Place" (old Rock Lobster)m Mangos Resort, Barretto on 2nd Wednesday of the Month. MOC scratches will also be held at same location first Thursday of the month.
